Artist biography
Jenny O’Brien trained in Fine Art, Paint and Print
at the Galway-Mayo
Institute of Technology
where she graduated in 1998, specialising in portraiture.
With a decade of experience as a professional
artist, her work ranges
between commercial
and private portrait commissions, murals,
web and graphic design, caricatures,
cartoons and other published
work -
twelve of her oil-painted portraits were
specially
commissioned for the 2007 GRCC
“Inspirational Women of Galway”
calendar.
Her paintings have been included in various
group exhibitions
nationwide, notably the specially selected "Iontas Small Works" competition in the
RHA Gallery, Dublin. Her first
solo portraiture exhibition opened in the
Kenny
Gallery, Galway, in 2006.
She now works from her home studio in the West of Ireland.
